What Is This Program?

The RTCP program assist farmers and ranchers in Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and insular areas who paid to transport either an agricultural commodity or an input used to produce an agricultural commodity. The payments provided by the RTCP program are intended to offset a portion of the costs of transporting agricultural inputs and products over long distances.

What Benefits Are Offered?

Reimbursement for a portion of the cost to transport agricultural commodities or inputs used to produce an agricultural commodity, based on costs incurred during a 12-month period. Payments are capped at $8,000 per producer per fiscal year, though a higher cap may be possible if overall claims do not exceed available funding. The program has an authorized budget of $3.5 million.
