What Is This Program?
What Benefits Are Offered?
Federal funding for freight intermodal, freight rail, lock and dam modernization/rehabilitation, and marine highway corridor projects. Eligible projects can receive up to a 30% federal share of costs for certain freight intermodal or freight rail projects. Also includes technical assistance for planning, design, construction, preserving, and improving public roads and stewardship of Federal funds.

Other Criteria: State transportation departments or agencies, Projects for modernization or rehabilitation of a lock and dam, Projects on a marine highway corridor, connector, or crossing (including an inland waterway corridor, connector, or crossing), Projects functionally connected to the National Highway Freight Network (NHFN), Projects likely to reduce on-road mobile source emissions
