This program supports a variety of activities to enhance tribal efforts to prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency, support services related to the development of a Tribal Youth Healing to Wellness Court and strengthen the juvenile justice system response for American Indian and Alaska Native youth.

Funding is available through discretionary and formula grants to support state, local, and Tribal efforts to prevent and respond to youth delinquency and victimization, and to improve juvenile justice systems. For Fiscal Year 2024, $22.1 Million was awarded across the Tribal Youth category.

Region: US states, US territories, units of local government, Tribal jurisdictions

Demographics: American Indian/Alaska Native jurisdictions

Other Criteria: organizations (especially those serving youth in Tribal communities), private agencies, state agencies designated by the governor (for formula grants)
