What Benefits Are Offered?
Funding for pre-development and basic infrastructure activities to advance climate and community resilience goals, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve public health and environment, and support economic opportunity in disadvantaged communities. The estimated total available funding for the program is $15,000,000. Funds are delivered through advances and reimbursements, with advances up to 25% of the total grant award.
Who Is Eligible?
Region: California (for Lead Applicant), Disadvantaged communities in California (for Project Areas, including incorporated, unincorporated, and Tribal areas)
Demographics: Tribal Communities, Disadvantaged Unincorporated Communities (DUCs)
Other Criteria: Nonprofit organizations (IRC 501(c)(3) tax-exempt), Public agencies, Tribal governments, California Native American Tribes, Tribally-owned nonprofits, Local agencies, Special districts, Joint powers authorities, Public utilities, Local publicly owned utilities, Mutual water companies, Lead Applicant must be based in California, Multiple Co-Applicants are required, Must form a Collaborative Governance Structure with diverse community, business, and local government stakeholders, Projects must reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Projects must provide local economic, environmental, and health benefits to disadvantaged communities, Projects must be community-led climate resilience projects, Applicants must include community engagement activities, Applicants must address climate resilience through the proposal, Prioritized: Disadvantaged Unincorporated Communities (DUCs), Tribal Communities, Planning Grant Grantees, Previous Implementation Grant Applicants, Projects should respond to previous community planning efforts
