The Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Grant Program provides funding to strategically deploy publicly accessible electric vehicle charging infrastructure and other alternative fueling infrastructure. This grant program has two tracks: Community Charging and Alternative Fueling Grants (Community Program): To install electric vehicle charging and alternative fuel in locations on public roads, schools, parks, and in publicly accessible parking facilities. Grant funding to strategically deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging and alternative fueling infrastructure projects in urban and rural communities, publicly accessible locations, including downtown areas and local neighborhoods. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provides $2.5 billion over 5 years for this program, with a specific round providing $1,321,200,000. Federal cost-sharing is up to 80%, requiring a 20% applicant match.
Who Is Eligible?
Industries: transportation, infrastructure, energy
Region: US States, Local Governments, Federally Recognized Tribes, US Territories, rural areas (priority), low- and moderate-income neighborhoods (priority)
Other Criteria: State Governments, Local Governments, Federally Recognized Tribes and Affiliated Groups, Metropolitan planning organizations, Special purpose districts or public authorities with a transportation function, including port authorities, Transportation Providers and Operators, Planning and Project Organizations, Authorities, agencies, or instrumentalities or entities owned by one or more eligible entities, A group of eligible entities, State or local authorities with ownership of publicly accessible transportation facilities (applies to Community Program only), Projects must install EV charging or alternative fuel infrastructure (hydrogen/propane/natural gas), Projects for public roads, schools, parks, publicly accessible parking facilities, or designated alternative fuel corridors, Must register with SAM.gov and obtain a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI)
