What Is This Program?

Dental Reimbursement Program (DRP): The purposes are to: • Improve access to oral health care services for low-income people with HIV. • Support related education and training for the delivery of dental care to people with HIV. This program will reimburse certain costs incurred by eligible entities that have provided uncompensated or partially uncompensated oral health care to people with HIV Community Based Dental Partnership Program (CBDPP): The purpose of this program is to improve access to oral health care services for low-income people with HIV in underserved geographic areas while simultaneously providing education and clinical training for dental students, dental hygiene students, dental residents, or other dental providers in community-based settings.

The overall program's annual appropriation for FY2025 is over $2.3 billion, with approximately $13.62 million specifically for Dental Reimbursement (Part F).

Other Criteria: Cities, states, counties, and community-based groups, Public or private non-profit organizations in the United States, Schools and academic health science centers, Faith-based organizations, Tribes and tribal organizations, Dental schools, Hospitals with postdoctoral dental residency programs, Community colleges with dental hygiene programs, Organizations that provide HIV care, treatment, and essential support services for low-income people with HIV, Recipients of other RWHAP grants (for Minority AIDS Initiative), Programs receiving Part A funding must track people with HIV in their area and actively find those with undiagnosed HIV, Programs receiving Part A and B funding must develop strategic plans to find people with HIV who do not know their status, Grants operate as payor of last resort (Parts A, B, C, D), At least 75% of grant funds (Parts A, B, C) must go towards core medical services for people with HIV
