The ReConnect Program provides loans, grants, and loan/grant combination awards to facilitate broadband deployment in rural areas. An essential goal of the ReConnect Program is to expand broadband service to rural areas without sufficient access to broadband, defined at the time of the funding notice (at a minimum: 25 megabits per second (Mbps) downstream and 3 Mbps upstream). Furnishes loans and grants for the costs of construction, improvement, or acquisition of facilities and equipment needed to provide broadband service in eligible rural areas. Offers 100% grant funding for specific eligible entity types.
Who Is Eligible?
Industries: broadband service providers, telecommunications
Region: eligible rural areas, United States, US Territories, Compacts of Free Association (COFA) sovereign states
Demographics: Alaska Native Corporations, Tribal Governments, Colonias, Persistent Poverty Areas, Socially Vulnerable Communities
Other Criteria: Projects must provide 100 Mbps symmetrical minimum service in all proposed service areas
