Implementation of the Platte River Recovery Program Cooperative Agreement which implements certain aspects of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Serviceโ€™s recovery plans for four target species (interior least tern, whooping crane, piping plover and pallid sturgeon) listed as threatened or endangered pursuant to the Endangered Species Act.

What Is This Program?

The PRRIP is a collaborative effort between the Department of the Interior, the states of Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming, water users and environmental groups to address the habitat needs of target threatened and endangered species that utilize habitat on the Central Platte River in Nebraska while providing ESA compliance for existing and certain new water related projects in the Platte River basin, which provides regulatory certainty for water users in the three states.
