To assist state, territory, tribal, and/or local government agencies in building programs which protect, manage, and restore wetlands. The primary focus of the grants is to build state, territory, and Tribal wetland programs. A secondary focus is to build local (e.g., county or municipal) programs. To assist state, Tribal, territory and/or local government agencies in building programs which protect, manage, and restore wetlands. The primary focus of the grants is to build state, Tribal and territory wetland programs. A secondary focus is to build local (e.g., county or municipal) programs.

Grants to support the development and refinement of state, tribal, territorial, and local government wetland programs. Projects can include research, investigations, experiments, training, demonstrations, surveys, and studies relating to the causes, effects, extent, prevention, reduction, and elimination of water pollution, ultimately increasing the quantity and quality of wetlands in the U.S.

Region: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, Federally-recognized Tribal lands

Other Criteria: State government agencies, Territorial government agencies, Local government agencies (e.g., county or municipal), Federally-recognized Tribal government agencies, Interstate organizations, Intertribal consortia, Projects must develop or refine state, tribal, territory, or local government wetland programs, Projects must be performed primarily within one or more states/territories/tribal lands of a specific EPA Region (e.g., Region 1, 2, 3, etc.), Applicants typically need to meet an applicable required match at time of award (Tribal applicants may have cost-share waived if included in an approved Performance Partnership Grant)
