The Organic Market Development Grant (OMDG) supports the development of new and expanded organic markets by providing additional resources and certainty for businesses transitioning to organic or initiating new organic production and processing capacity. By investing in certified organic, expanding capacity for aggregation, processing, manufacturing, storing, transporting, wholesaling, distribution, or consumer markets, the anticipated increase in market activity will both address demand for dom

Funding to support the development of new and expanded organic markets, increase consumption of domestic organic agricultural commodities, build capacity for certified organic production, aggregation, processing, manufacturing, storing, transporting, wholesaling, distribution, and consumer market development. Priority given to projects addressing specific needs for organic grains and livestock feed, dairy, fibers, legumes/rotational crops, and unavailable organic ingredients.

Region: 50 states, American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, Guam, United States Virgin Islands
Demographics: historically underserved farmers and ranchers
Other Criteria: Business entities who produce or handle organic foods, Non-profit organizations (including trade associations), Tribal, state, territory, and local government entities, Producers/handlers must be USDA organic certified or in transition to certification, Producers/handlers must be registered in the Organic INTEGRITY Database (not applicable to non-profit/government entities)
