Competitive grants for surface transportation infrastructure projects, including both capital investments and planning activities, that demonstrate significant local or regional impact. Minimum awards vary by project type and location (e.g., $5M for urban capital, $1M for rural capital; no minimum for planning projects).
Who Is Eligible?
Industries: surface transportation infrastructure projects, highway projects, bridge projects, public transportation projects, passenger and freight rail transportation projects, port infrastructure investments, intermodal projects, airport projects (surface transportation components only), culvert replacement or stormwater runoff prevention for aquatic species habitat, planning, preparation, or design of eligible surface transportation capital projects
Region: United States, District of Columbia, US territories or possessions
Other Criteria: Eligible applicants: States, local governments, counties, Tribal governments, transit agencies, port authorities, public agencies, special purpose districts, multi-State or multi-jurisdictional groups, Projects with significant local or regional impact, Projects can be multi-modal and/or multi-jurisdictional, Applicants may submit a total of three project applications (planning and/or capital), Must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number from SAM.gov (may take up to 30 days), Applicants must have 'Active' UEIs to apply
