Compensates commercial fishermen for economic and property losses caused by oil and gas obstructions on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf. Compensation for economic loss is based on 50 percent of gross income lost, rather than loss of profits.

Business Size: small, individual

Industries: fishing, commercial fishing

Region: U.S. Outer Continental Shelf

Other Criteria: commercial fishermen, must have suffered economic or property losses, losses must be caused by oil and gas obstructions, damage must be sustained on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf, must be able to prove causation of loss/damage, must file an initial report with NOAA Fisheries within 15 days of vessel returning to port after discovering damage, must submit a full claim within 90 days of discovering the loss or damage
