The annually appropriated funds to the Department supports congressionally directed spending projects that address locally identified community development, housing, and infrastructure needs. Community Project Funding (CPF) projects are intended to reflect community priorities identified by Members of Congress and to complement HUDโs broader mission of creating strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes.

What Benefits Are Offered?
Provides investment in a wide variety of community projects such as housing, homelessness prevention, workforce training, public facilities, parks, resilience planning, and other critical infrastructure and services. Funds are federal grants that can be used for eligible administrative, planning, operations, and maintenance costs. Grantees also receive access to training and technical assistance resources from HUD for grant implementation. Total allocations for recent fiscal years include $1.5 billion (FY2022), $2.9 billion (FY2023), and $3.2 billion (FY2024).
