What Is This Program?

Eligible organizations and activities can receive donations of federal property through state agencies for surplus property (SASP). Recipients may include: State and public agencies, Nonprofit educational and public health activities, including programs for the homeless and impoverished, Nonprofit and public programs for the elderly, Public airports, Educational activities of special interest to the armed services, Veterans service organizations, and other Special categories.

Provides access to a wide range of surplus federal personal property (e.g., office equipment, furniture, motor vehicles, aircraft, scientific devices, heavy machinery). Federal agencies receive free transfers (excluding shipping), state and local governments, nonprofit organizations, and public agencies can obtain surplus property. The general public can purchase items through GSA Auctions. Specific programs like 'Computers for Learning' allow schools and educational non-profits to receive excess computer equipment directly.
