Through CSP, NRCS provides financial and technical assistance to eligible producers to conserve and enhance soil, water, air, and related natural resources on their land. Provides financial assistance through annual payments for implementing and maintaining conservation practices, and comprehensive technical assistance (advice, planning, design, monitoring based on science and research) to enhance existing conservation efforts, strengthen operations, and address natural resource problems on agricultural and forest lands.
Who Is Eligible?
Industries: agriculture, forestry
Region: United States (state-specific implementation)
Other Criteria: Farmers, ranchers, and non-industrial forest managers, Engaged in existing conservation efforts on working lands, Must have control of the property (demonstrated by property deed or lease agreement), Possess an official tax ID (Social Security number or employer ID), Have a farm number (required for financial assistance, obtainable from USDAโs Farm Service Agency), Comply with adjusted gross income (AGI) limitations, Comply with highly erodible land and wetland conservation requirements (e.g., by filing Form AD-1026), For renewals: must have successfully fulfilled initial contract and agree to achieve additional conservation objectives (meet or exceed two additional priority resource concerns or achieve higher levels of conservation for two existing priority resource concerns)
