To establish an agricultural conservation easement program for the conservation of eligible land and natural resources through easements or other interests in the land. The Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP) is comprised of two components โ Agricultural Land Easements (ALE) and Wetland Reserve Easements (WRE). Helps landowners, land trusts, and other entities protect, restore, and enhance wetlands or protect working farms and ranches through conservation easements. Provides financial and technical assistance to protect the agricultural viability and conservation values of eligible land, limit nonagricultural uses, protect grazing uses, and improve wildlife habitat.

Region: United States, state-specific application/ranking
Demographics: tribal landowners
Other Criteria: landowners, land trusts, other entities (such as state and local governments), private landowners, agricultural producers, non-industrial forest managers, must have an official tax ID (Social Security number or employer ID), must have a property deed or lease agreement to show control of the property, must have a farm number (if interested in financial assistance), must be in compliance with highly erodible land (HEL) and wetland conservation (WC) provisions, must be in compliance with adjusted gross income (AGI) limitation provisions, land must be eligible for wetland protection/restoration/enhancement or protection of working farms/ranches
