This program furthers the Departmentโs mission by establishing a program to provide grants to eligible recipients to assist veterans in highly rural areas through innovative transportation services to travel to Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, and to otherwise assist in providing transportation services in connection with the provision of VA medical care to these veterans

What Benefits Are Offered?
Grant funding for Veteran Service Organizations and State Veterans Service Agencies to provide transportation services to Veterans in highly rural areas, helping them travel to VA or VA-authorized health care facilities. There is no cost for Veterans to participate.
Who Is Eligible?
Region: highly rural areas, counties with fewer than seven people per square mile, Specific eligible counties in Alaska, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Wyoming, Nebraska
Other Criteria: Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), State Veterans Service Agencies (SVSAs), Must provide transportation services to Veterans living in eligible counties to VA or VA-authorized health care facilities
