What Benefits Are Offered?
The E-Rate program helps schools and libraries obtain affordable broadband services. It provides discounts ranging from 20% to 90% on eligible services and equipment. Funding supports category one services (telecommunications, telecommunications services, Internet access) and category two services (internal connections, basic maintenance of internal connections, and managed internal broadband services). The program has an annual cap, adjusted for inflation, of approximately $3.9 billion.
