What Is This Program?

To implement and oversee unemployment insurance programs for eligible workers through federal and state cooperation; including unemployment compensation for federal employees or ex-service members, Disaster Unemployment Assistance, and to assist in the oversight of Trade Adjustment Assistance and Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance, Reemployment Trade Adjustment Assistance programs, and temporary UI programs enacted in times of economic shocks or downturns.

What Benefits Are Offered?

Provides temporary financial assistance and income support for laid-off workers, with benefit amounts and duration determined by State law. Extended Benefits may provide up to 13-20 additional weeks of compensation during periods of high unemployment.

Who Is Eligible?

Region: United States, US States and Territories

Other Criteria: Eligible workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own (as determined under State law), Meet other eligibility requirements of State law, Individuals may be eligible for specific categories such as federal civilian employees, ex-service members, or workers unemployed due to U.S. trade policies., For Extended Benefits: Exhausted regular unemployment insurance benefits during periods of high unemployment.
