Goal: SAC programs are established to: 1) Enhance the capabilities of states to collect, analyze, and report data on justice issues relevant to the states and the nation. 2) Provide a mechanism that supports the collection and sharing of vital justice system data among the states, and between the states and the federal government.

This program provides funds to each state to coordinate statistical activities within the state, conduct research as needed to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and assist the Bureau of Justice Statistics with gathering data from respondent agencies within their states.
