The purpose of this program is to promote and develop U.S. fisheries through marketing, research, and development, creating a dedicated fund from import duties on fishery products to support the U.S. industry's needs.

Competitive grant funding for projects that promote U.S. fisheries by assisting the fishing community in addressing marketing and research needs, optimizing economic benefits, building and maintaining sustainable fisheries, and increasing opportunities for viable working waterfronts. Projects can focus on promotion and marketing, development, infrastructure, capacity building, or science/technology.

Who Is Eligible?

Industries: fisheries, aquaculture

Region: United States, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Republic of Palau, Federated States of Micronesia

Other Criteria: citizens or nationals of the United States, citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Republic of Palau, or the Federated States of Micronesia, entities that are corporations, partnerships, associations, or other non-Federal entities (non-profit or otherwise, including Indian Tribes) that are citizens of the United States or NMI within the meaning of section 2 of the Shipping Act, 1916, demonstrate direct benefits to U.S. fisheries, demonstrate meaningful participation of fishing communities, address marketing and research needs of the fishing community, must complete and maintain registrations on SAM.gov, Grants.gov, and eRA Commons, open to individuals, industry, academia, and state, local and tribal governments, must submit an agency accepted pre-proposal to be eligible for full proposal
