Rural Health Limited Geographic Areas: Delta, Appalachian Region, and Northern Border Region

Rural Behavioral Health Workforce Centers – Northern Border Region aims to create a collaborative approach to provide career and workforce training activities in the NBRC region. Rural Northern Border Region (RNBR) Outreach Program promotes the delivery of health care services to underserved populations in rural Northern Border Region Commission (NBRC) service area. Delta States Rural Development Network Grant Program funds organizations located in the 8 Delta states through planning, implementation, and development of integrated health care networks. Delta Region Maternal Care Coordination improves and expands access to and coordination of perinatal health care services in 8 Delta Region states. The Delta Region Community Health Systems Development Program provides comprehensive, multi-year technical assistance (TA) to help rural healthcare organizations in the rural counties and parishes of the Delta region improve financial and operational performance, and quality of care. The Delta Health Systems Implementation Program (DSIP) funds rural healthcare organizations directly to implement projects that improve financial sustainability and increase access to care, such as financial and operational improvement, quality improvement, telehealth, and workforce development projects in the Delta region. The Delta Region Rural Health Workforce Training Program supports the development and training of future and current health professionals in critical administrative support or business operations professionals in the Delta region. The Appalachian Region Healthcare Support Program aims to strengthen healthcare delivery through intensive TA provided to rural healthcare organizations in the Appalachian Region by improving financial and operational performance as well as the quality of care. The purpose of the RCORP-Northern Border Rural Workforce project is to improve health care within the rural service area by enhancing behavioral health workforce capacity.
