What Is This Program?

Program is no longer making new awards, but funded projects may still actively report expenditures. The USDA Rural Development Policy Public Service and Leadership Development Program provides substantive and direct training and experience to cohorts of attorneys for the purpose of improving the coordination and effectiveness of Federal programs, services, and actions affecting rural areas, specific to rural development policy. Fellows are embedded at the U.S. Department of Agriculture to work one-on-one with USDA legal staff for a two-year developmental period. Fellows may also attend professional conferences and training within the field.
