What Is This Program?
What Benefits Are Offered?
Provides a Rural Business Investment Company (RBIC) license, enabling the entity to operate as a developmental capital fund to help meet equity capital investment needs in rural communities and smaller enterprises.
Who Is Eligible?
Other Criteria: Newly formed for-profit entities or subsidiaries, Must have relevant experience in venture capital or community development financing, Must raise a minimum of $10 million in private equity capital, May be structured as limited partnerships, limited liability companies or corporations, RBIC investments must target rural areas (minimum 75% in areas with population of 50,000 or less), RBIC investments must target smaller enterprises (minimum 50%), A maximum of 10% of RBIC investments may be made in urban areas
