Grant funding provided as reimbursement to promote markets for Rubberized Asphalt Concrete (RAC) products. Individual grants can be up to $375,000, regional grants up to $525,000, and tribal entity grants up to $750,000. Total estimated available funding is $6,371,315.

Industries: road construction, public works, infrastructure development, materials manufacturing, waste tire recycling
Region: California
Other Criteria: Public Agency, Tribal Government, Local Governments (as defined in Public Resources Code section 30109), Other local governmental agencies, Qualifying Tribal Entities, State agencies (eligible only for Class 1 bikeways, greenways, and disability access at parks projects), Encourages first-time users of rubberized pavement, Projects must promote markets for Rubberized Asphalt Concrete (RAC) products using California-generated waste tires, Projects must involve resurfacing roads, Class 1 bikeways, greenways, or disability access at parks using RAC Hot-Mix or Chip Seal applications, Only California-generated waste tires, processed in California, must be used for crumb rubber, Projects must be owned and maintained by the applicant and accessible to the general public, Binder material must contain a minimum of 300 pounds (15% by weight) of tire-derived crumb rubber per ton of rubberized binder
