What Is This Program?

The grant will support efforts to reduce lead in drinking water through drinking water infrastructure improvements and/or optimization of drinking water treatment at a drinking water system, and/or facilities remediation at schools and childcare facilities in disadvantaged communities. It is a priority to support lead reduction projects at drinking water systems that have exceeded the lead action level during the last three years or at school, daycare, or other facilities that primarily serve children or other human subpopulations that are vulnerable to environmental health risks.

Industries: water utilities, education, public administration, non-profit

Region: United States

Other Criteria: Community water systems, Water systems located in an area governed by an Indian Tribe, Non-transient non-community water systems (e.g., schools, factories, office buildings, hospitals that have their own water systems), Qualified nonprofit organizations servicing a public water system, Municipalities, State, interstate, or intermunicipal agencies, Projects must reduce lead in drinking water through infrastructure and/or treatment improvements or facility remediation in schools and child care facilities, Projects must address conditions that contribute to increased concentrations of lead in drinking water, Projects should proceed to implementation upon award, Projects must comply with the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act
