The Department of Warโs (DoW) REPI program supports the military mission by funding technical and implementation projects that inform effective and efficient military land management on or near DoW installations and ranges to preserve and enhance test, training, and operational capabilities. The projects funded through these programs enable mission-driven use of DoW working lands, protect strategic defense priorities, to facilitate the DoW mission, avoid regulatory restrictions of military land

What Is This Program?
What Benefits Are Offered?
The REPI Program preserves military missions by supporting cost-sharing agreements between various partners (Military Services, other Federal agencies, state/local governments, private organizations). Its aim is to avoid land use conflicts near military installations, address environmental restrictions that limit military activities, and increase military installation resilience. It offers tools for protecting irreplaceable training/testing ranges and mission readiness assets. Benefits include preserving live-fire training, reducing operational workarounds, mitigating electromagnetic spectrum interference, enabling mission growth, fostering new partnerships, preserving working lands, enhancing safety, supporting Joint Land Use Studies (JLUS), and providing recreational opportunities. The program has historically leveraged $1.7 billion in Department of War funds with an additional $1.5 billion from partners. For 2025, REPI will contribute over $25 million across 20 projects.

Industries: land use planning, environmental management, conservation, defense support
Region: near US military installations, across 41 states and territories
Other Criteria: Military Services, other Federal agencies, state and local governments, private organizations, able to engage in cost-sharing agreements, focused on avoiding land use conflicts near military installations, addressing environmental restrictions that limit military activities, increasing military installation resilience, projects provide military readiness objectives and community/environmental benefits
