What Is This Program?

This program supports NRCS conservation delivery to private landowners. The information developed by the program is also applicable to other federal and state agencies and to the public. Information about the released conservation plants and technical documents for the selection, use, and management of conservation plants is available at no cost to the public through the programโ€™s website. Released conservation plants are available to the public through commercial seed and plant growers. Commercial growers may request foundation and starter seed or plants of plant materials center releases through the distributing entity. Information for commercial growers to obtain starter plant materials is available on the program website.

Financial and technical assistance for agricultural producers and landowners to implement a wide range of conservation practices. Funding is provided through grants and cost-share payments via various USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) programs (e.g., AMA, EQIP, CSP, RCPP). The 'Act Now' process offers accelerated funding decisions for eligible applications that meet state-determined minimum ranking scores. Technical assistance includes resource assessment, practice design, and monitoring. Payment rates are reviewed and set annually by fiscal year and vary by practice and state.

Other Criteria: agricultural producers, farmers, ranchers, landowners, non-industrial forest managers, must have a farm tract number with USDAโ€™s Farm Service Agency, must certify compliance with adjusted gross income (AGI) limitation provisions, must certify compliance with highly erodible land (HEL) and wetland conservation (WC) requirements as per the Food Security Act, must provide property deed or lease agreement to show control of the property, must provide an official tax ID (Social Security number or employer ID)
