The mission of the TIP Office is to combat human trafficking (a/k/a modern slavery) by employing a โ€œ3 Psโ€ strategy: preventing trafficking in persons, protecting and assisting trafficking victims, and prosecuting traffickers and others who profit from trafficking in persons. Additionally, the TIP Office focuses on a 4th-P, partnerships to effectuate this strategy.

What Is This Program?

The TIP Office (Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons) is an Office in the U.S. Department of State which leads the Departmentโ€™s global efforts to combat human trafficking through the prosecution of traffickers, the protection of victims, and the prevention of human trafficking. The TIP Office is the only office that administers foreign assistance which is focused solely on combatting this crime.
