Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Program

The Secretary of Transportation is directed to conduct an ongoing intelligent transportation system (ITS) program to research, develop and operationally test ITS and provide technical assistance in the nationwide application of ITS as a component of the surface transportation system (23 USC Sect 515).
