This program provides official U.S. Government procurement documents, including Commercial Item Descriptions (CIDs), USDA specifications, and Institutional Meat Specifications (IMPS). These standards ensure quality, wholesomeness, and consistency for a wide range of food and agricultural products (e.g., fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, poultry) used in federal nutrition assistance programs and by other institutional food service entities. It also facilitates the development and revision of these specifications.
