What Benefits Are Offered?
Competitive grant funding to help communities and Tribes plan for and reduce wildfire risk, aligning with the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy. Funds can be used for developing or revising Community Wildfire Protection Plans (up to $250,000) or for implementing projects described in a CWPP that is less than ten years old (up to $10 million).
Who Is Eligible?
Region: United States, US territories
Demographics: low-income communities
Other Criteria: Units of local governments representing communities located in an area with a risk of wildfires, Indian Tribes, Non-profit organizations (including homeowner associations) that assist at-risk communities, State forestry agencies (including U.S. territories and interests), Alaska Native Corporations, Serving communities identified as having high or very high wildfire hazard potential, Serving communities impacted by a severe disaster within the previous 10 years which increased wildfire risk and/or hazard, Must have an active registration with the System for Award Management (SAM.gov)
