What Is This Program?

The program goal is to provide financial assistance to facilities that purchase and process byproducts from ecosystem restoration projects with the goal to substantially decrease the cost of conducting ecological restoration projects involving vegetation removal on Federal land, including Indian forest land or rangeland. Financial assistance can be provided to a facility seeking to establish, reopen, retrofit, expand, or improve a sawmill or other wood-processing facility near unit of Federal land that has been identified as high or very high priority for ecological restoration.
