To provide funds to Federally Recognized Indian Tribal Governments and to tribal organizations to fund some or all of the indirect costs incurred in administering Federal programs for which direct appropriations are made to the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

  • Refer to 25 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M, and Chapter V, Part 900 for procedural instructions.
  • Submit written requests for waivers if needed, which can be included in contract proposals or submitted separately.
  • Regional Directors will forward waiver requests to the Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs within 35 days of receipt.
  • The Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs will approve or deny waiver requests within 90 days.
