The purpose of GLCI funding is for NRCS, in collaboration with partners, to expand the delivery of conservation technical assistance to support grazing planning and conservation practice implementation, education, on-farm/ranch demonstrations, farmer networks, and workforce training projects to improve resilience.

Provides financial and technical assistance to expand well-managed grazing systems and implement conservation practices across the country. This includes cost-share assistance for approved practices, free expert advice for land management, and support through partner organizations like the National Grazing Lands Coalition which offers mentorship and resource navigation. Funding is often integrated with and leveraged through core NRCS conservation programs (e.g., Environmental Quality Incentives Program - EQIP, Conservation Stewardship Program - CSP, Agricultural Management Assistance - AMA, Regional Conservation Partnership Program - RCPP).

Other Criteria: agricultural producers, non-industrial forest managers, landowners or leaseholders with control of property, possess an official tax ID (Social Security number or an employer ID), have a farm number (required for financial assistance), commit to a conservation plan (AD 1026) addressing highly erodible soils and wetland protection, certify compliance with adjusted gross income limitation (AGI) provisions, certify compliance with highly erodible land and wetland conservation requirements (Food Security Act), involved in expanding or improving well-managed grazing systems
