What Is This Program?

The Grants and Cooperative Agreements (GCA) Program provides for well managed Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Recreation by providing financial assistance to eligible agencies and organizations that develop, maintain, operate, expand, support, or contribute to well managed, high-quality, OHV Recreation areas, roads, and trails, and to responsibly maintain the wildlife, soils, and habitat in a manner that will sustain long-term OHV Recreation. The GCA Program supports the planning, acquisition, development, maintenance, administration, operation, enforcement, restoration, and conservation of trails, trailheads, areas, and other facilities associated with the use of Off-Highway Motor Vehicles, and programs involving Off-Highway Motor Vehicle safety and/or education.

What Benefits Are Offered?

Financial assistance for well-managed Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) recreation areas, roads, and trails. This includes support for planning, acquisition, development, maintenance, operation, enforcement, restoration, and conservation of OHV facilities, and programs for OHV safety and education. The total estimated funding for the G25 grant cycle is $30,000,000 (not guaranteed), with individual award amounts being dependent on various factors.

Who Is Eligible?

Region: California

Other Criteria: Nonprofit organizations (must provide 501(c)(3) status and IRS Form 990 from previous year), Public Agencies, Tribal Governments (Federal or California Native American Tribes), Cities, counties, districts, Federal agencies, State agencies, Educational institutions, Certified Community Conservation Corps, Projects must reside on public lands, Letter of Intent Required, Applicants must provide matching funds or equivalent value of services/materials: 25% of total project cost (10% for Restoration projects)
