The Faculty Exchange Program is intended to improve the teaching and pedagogical capacities of targeted sectors (currently veterinary science and animal health) in targeted countries, with the objective of improving long-term scientific capacity and use of scientifically-based policy decisions in current and potential trading partners.

What Benefits Are Offered?
Enhances the teaching ability and curriculum development skills of agricultural educators from developing countries through a one-semester (approx. 4 months) program in the United States. Participants acquire new knowledge and are paired with U.S. host universities. U.S. universities can apply for funding to host fellows; for example, $800,000 was awarded to two universities for international veterinary fellowships through this program.

Other Criteria: agricultural educators from institutions of higher learning in developing countries (for participants), recruited and selected by USDA/FAS (for participants), U.S. universities interested in hosting (for host universities)
