Section 12605 of the 2018 Farm Bill (Pub. L. 115-334) also established the Citrus Trust Fund and provides $25 million, available until expended, for each of 2019 through 2023, to carry out the Emergency Citrus Disease Research and Extension (ECDRE) Program in section 412 of AREERA (7 U.S.C. 7632(j)). Other Criteria: Applicant types: Federal agencies, national laboratories, colleges and universities, research institutions and organizations, private organizations or corporations, State Agricultural Experiment Stations, Cooperative Extension Services, individuals, or groups consisting of two or more of these entities., Projects must integrate research and extension activities., Projects must show strong evidence for grower engagement in project development and implementation., Projects should incorporate collaborative approaches across disciplines., Projects must aim to develop new solutions deployable by growers to manage and prevent Huanglongbing (HLB) infection in the near term., Focus on combating HLB and its disease complex to support financially sustainable citrus farming.
