This program supports activities designed to ensure abused and neglected children involved in dependency court proceedings have access to a court appointed special advocate.

Funding to support state and community efforts to develop effective prevention and intervention programs and to improve juvenile justice systems, reduce and prevent delinquency, and protect children from violence and abuse.

Region: US States, US Territories, US local governments, US Tribal jurisdictions, American Indian/Alaska Native jurisdictions

Other Criteria: States (eligible for both discretionary and formula grants), US Territories (eligible for formula grants), Units of local government (eligible for discretionary grants, and subgrants from states for formula grants), Tribal jurisdictions (eligible for discretionary grants, and subgrants from states for formula grants), Private agencies (eligible for subgrants from states for formula grants), Organizations (eligible for discretionary grants), States/Territories applying for Formula Grants must satisfy 28 state plan requirements, including 4 core requirements
