To provide comprehensive community mental health services to children, youth, and young adults, birth through age 21 with a serious emotional disturbance (SED), which may include efforts to identify and serve children at risk, and their families. Implementation of CMHI is guided by the systems of care (SOC) approach.โ€ฏ It is expected that the CMHI SOC must: Be established in a community(ies) selected by a public entity. - Consist of the communityโ€™s public agencies and nonprofit entities (i.

What Is This Program?

The program will ensure that services are provided collaboratively across child-serving systems; that each child or adolescent served through the program receives an individualized service plan developed with the participation of the family (and, where appropriate, the child); that each individualized plan designates a case manager to assist the child and family; and that funding is provided for mental health services required to meet the needs of youngsters in these systems.
