To improve the health of low-income elderly persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods, distributed through public and non-profit private local agencies such as food banks and community action organizations.

Monthly supplemental food packages of nutritious USDA Foods for eligible low-income seniors. Administrative funds and food are also provided to participating states and Indian Tribal Organizations to operate the program.
Who Is Eligible?
Region: participating US states, Indian Tribal Organizations
Demographics: seniors, low-income individuals
Other Criteria: at least 60 years of age, income at or below 130% of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines, meet state/local residency requirements, at nutritional risk (if required by state)
