What Is This Program?

Funds are provided to eligible applicants to establish and maintain Centers of Excellence for Stormwater Infrastructure Technologies (CESITs), to be located in various regions throughout the United States as authorized by Section 33 U.S.C. 1302f(b). This assistance program provides grant funding for the CESITs to conduct research on new and emerging stormwater control infrastructure technologies and alternative funding approaches; provide technical assistance to State, Tribal, and local governments; and collaborate with regional institutions, among other eligible activities. Funding will also support one CESIT project to create and maintain a national electronic clearinghouse that contains information relating to new and emerging stormwater control infrastructure technologies.
