What Benefits Are Offered?
Grant funding derived from cannabis excise and cultivation taxes to support programs and services for California communities disproportionately impacted by past federal and state drug policies. At least 50% of funding is allocated to qualified community-based nonprofit organizations.
Who Is Eligible?
Region: California (specific eligible counties or census tracts)
Demographics: individuals directly impacted by the War on Drugs, formerly incarcerated individuals, communities disproportionately impacted by past federal and state drug policies
Other Criteria: Nonprofit Public Agency, Local Health Departments (any of the 61 California-identified local government health departments), Community-based Nonprofit Organizations (established and focused on community-level issues, representative of populations served), Must provide services in identified CalCRG eligible counties or census tracts in California, Letter of Intent required, Organizations led by individuals directly impacted by the War on Drugs (FY 2023-24 priority), Organizations that serve formerly incarcerated individuals (FY 2023-24 priority), Organizations placing individuals in jobs (FY 2023-24 priority)
