The Acer Access and Development Program (Acer) provides grants to support the efforts of States, tribal governments, and research institutions to promote the domestic maple syrup industry. Supported activities include promotion of research and education related to maple syrup production; promotion of natural resource sustainability in the maple syrup industry.

Who Is Eligible?

Industries: maple syrup production

Region: 50 states, District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Federated States of Micronesia, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands

Other Criteria: states, tribal governments, research institutions, owners and operators of privately held land containing species of trees in the genus Acer who want to initiate or expand maple-sugaring activities or make land available for public access
